I began my career in the early 1980’s managing Sun systems for a manufacturing company in Michigan. In 1994, I formed a consulting and training business, UnixEd. Since that time I’ve worked as a contract system administrator at over 250 companies across the United States and I’ve trained thousands of system administrators in Oracle Solaris, IBM AIX, HP’s HP-UX, and Linux. Not only have I spent my career administering these platforms, I’ve worked on nearly every UNIX platform that has existed including SCO, Digital UNIX, IRIX, and many Linux distributions. In my spare time, I’ve written 11 best selling books on the Solaris Operating System. These books have been sold around the world and published in several languages.
